It is the largest railway junction in the country, Mathura Railway Junction is built in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. This junction comes under North Central Railway. Trains of 7 different routes for east, west, north and south direction pass through this junction. There are a total of 10 platforms in this station, on which there is always movement of trains.

You can come to this junction (Mathura Railway Junction) anytime day or night. One can see hundreds of trains plying from here daily. You can catch a train from here to reach any corner of the country. In 1875, a train was run at this junction for the first time. After this, in 1889, an 11 km long meter gauge line was started between Mathura-Vrindavan.

According to railway sources, this junction (Mathura Railway Junction) has the highest number of bookings among the 100 railway stations in the country. Despite this achievement, lack of cleanliness at the junction remains a major problem for the railways. According to the Quality Council of India (QCI) 2018 report, the station was declared the least clean among the 75 major stations surveyed. Since then the cleaning work is going on there continuously.
